Roger Cole, Ph.D. is an internationally
recognized Iyengar yoga teacher and an accomplished scientist and author.
His classes blend his thirty years of yoga experience with his expertise
in anatomy, physiology and neuropsychology to teach safe, effective
technique and provide a profound, rewarding, relaxing experience. He
currently teaches in Del Mar, California, writes the monthly Anatomy
column for Yoga Journal, and conducts workshops worldwide.

Backbends: Anatomy and Practice
Improve and deepen your backbends by understanding the anatomy of the
hips, spine, trunk and shoulders, and applying it to a thorough backbends
practice.
Session 2 – Friday February 19
- Afternoon Session 2:30 to 5:30
Inversions: Physiology and Practice
When you turn upside-down, your physiology changes dramatically. Your
blood pressure, heart beat, circulation, breathing, hormones, and brain
activity are all affected. Learn what happens, how it works, and how
to use it to get the most out of your practice of both head-up and head-down
postures. Alternative postures will be offered for those who cannot
practice full inversions.
Session 3 - Saturday February 20 - Morning

Yoga for Shoulders, Knees and Hips
Learn simple, effective ways to strengthen, mobilize and align your
shoulders, knees and hips while enjoying a well-rounded yoga class.
You'll safely get the most out of your postures by using anatomically
precise technique and personalized modifications.
Session 4 – Saturday February
20 - Afternoon Session 2:30 to 5:30
Forward Bends and Twists: Anatomy and Practice
Improve and deepen your forward bends and twists by understanding the
anatomy of the hips, knees, spine, and trunk, and applying it to a thorough
forward bends/twists practice.
Session 5 - Sunday February 21- Morning
Session 9:30 to 12:30
General Asana Including Standing Poses
Come enjoy an invigorating, well-rounded asana practice. You'll get
expert instruction, with special emphasis on the art of standing poses,
and how their alignment and spirit carries over into every pose.
Session 6 – Sunday February 21
- Afternoon Session 2:30 to 5:00
Breathing: Physiology and Practice
This class will teach you the basics of breathing science, from the
molecular level up to effects on consciousness. You will learn and practice
breathing “mechanics” and physiology that apply directly
to both pranayama and everyday life.
